As one of the provincial branches of the Ukrainian Museum of Canada which was founded in 1936 in Saskatoon, Saskatoon, the Manitoba Branch was founded in 1950.The Ukrainian Museum of Canada - Manitoba branch houses a collection of Ukrainian folk arts and crafts brought from Ukraine by early pioneers and includes traditional dress of various regions, woven articles (kylyms), Easter eggs (pysanky), wood carvings, a library and gift shop. Most of the collection was donated by descendants of the first, second and third waves of Ukrainian immigrants to Canada.
